The Legend of Larry the Learning Loft Bat
Not every bat is built the same.
Most bats flap through forests, swoop through the night, and sleep in dark caves.
But Larry? Larry was different.
He was born in the rafters of an old, forgotten library — a place where books whispered, pages fluttered in the breeze, and stories waited patiently to be opened. While the other bats were learning how to hunt insects, Larry was learning how to read.
He nibbled on corners of encyclopaedias, curled up in cozy dictionaries, and snoozed inside books of fairy tales. But Larry didn’t justread books. He lived them. Every sentence sparked a new question. Every story made him wonder more.
“How do volcanoes work?”
“Could I build a time machine?”
“Why does cheese have holes?”
Larry became a creature of curiosity — and not just at night. He stayed up through the day too, reading by shafts of sunlight that crept through cracked windows.
As the years passed, the world outside the library changed. The shelves grew dusty. The floors grew quiet. But Larry never stopped learning. And more importantly — he never stopped wanting to help others learn too.
So one night, Larry packed his tiny satchel (filled with bookmarks, pencils, and one emergency biscuit) and fluttered off into the world. He made his new home in the Learning Loft — a magical, invisible place hidden inside every classroom, home, and book.
Now, whenever a child is stuck on a tricky question, confused about homework, or afraid to try something new, Larry appears. Not with all the answers… but with just the right question to ask, or a cheerful squeak of encouragement.
“Learning is just flying with your brain,” he says.
“And even the best flyers fall sometimes.”
Larry doesn’t mind mistakes. He celebrates effort. He loves curiosity. And he believes every learner — no matter how small — can do brilliant things.
So next time you’re stuck on a quiz, staring at your homework, or wondering why rain smells so nice…
Just listen. You might hear a flap of wings.
You might see a shadow on the page.
You might feel a little more confident.
Because Larry the Learning Loft Bat is with you. And he always will be.
