Online British-curriculum tutoring in Cyprus

Learning Loft tutors British-curriculum pupils across Cyprus in IGCSE, GCSE and A-Level subjects, live and one to one with UK-qualified teachers. Cyprus is two hours ahead of the UK.

Who this is for

Cyprus has long-established British-curriculum schools in Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca, plus service children's education around the Sovereign Base Areas. Many families expect their children to return to the UK for university, so alignment with UK expectations matters.

Why families in Cyprus come to us

  • Forces and service families needing continuity through postings
  • Pupils taking an extra subject their school's option blocks cannot accommodate
  • Bilingual Greek-English pupils refining written academic English
  • Sixth formers targeting UK university entry

Qualifications we support

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE, Cambridge IGCSE and A-Levels are all widely taken, and English is a strong second language for many pupils. Subject option blocks in smaller schools can be restrictive, so private study of an additional subject is not unusual.

Time zones and scheduling

Cyprus is UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer — two hours ahead of the UK all year.

17:00–21:00 local time is the standard window, which is mid-afternoon to early evening for a UK tutor.

Sessions are booked as a fixed weekly slot wherever possible, so the appointment becomes part of the week rather than something renegotiated every Sunday. If a school trip or a family holiday gets in the way, the slot can be moved.

How the sessions work

  1. Tell us the school, board and year group. That is what determines the right tutor — not a general subject label.
  2. Free 15-minute discovery call. We check the match before you pay for anything.
  3. Live sessions in LoftClass. Our own virtual classroom, built for teaching rather than adapted from business video-conferencing: shared whiteboard, document sharing, recordings.
  4. A short written summary after each session so parents in a different time zone still know what was covered and what to practise.

Who teaches the sessions

Every tutor is a UK-qualified, DBS-checked teacher with classroom experience of the specification they teach. We do not recruit undergraduates, and we do not claim accreditations, awards or partnerships we do not hold. Learning Loft is a UK company; all tuition is delivered online from the UK.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with forces families?

Yes. Online tuition suits service families particularly well because provision continues unchanged through a posting to or from Cyprus.

Can my child take a subject their school does not offer?

Yes, subject to the school agreeing to enter them or to arranging a private-candidate entry. This is a common arrangement in smaller Cyprus schools.

Which exam boards do you cover?

AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas for domestic GCSE and A-Level, plus Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE.

How do I request a tutor?

Tell us the pupil’s year group, subject, exam board and preferred times. We will match a suitable UK-qualified teacher and confirm an available slot.
