Your evening. Our working day.
Because our tutors are based in the UK, after-school and evening tuition in the Gulf and Asia often takes place during the UK working day. Your child learns at a convenient local time with experienced UK teachers, and our teachers work normal daytime hours rather than late at night — which is why more of their best slots are open to international families.

International English tutoring
Secondary English is one of Learning Loft's strongest areas. Pupils work live with UK-based English teachers who know the British curriculum and the demands of GCSE English Language and Literature and IGCSE English, with exam-board familiarity confirmed before you book.
- Reading and comprehension of unseen and set texts
- Analytical and essay writing, structure and argument
- Vocabulary, accuracy and confident written expression
- Spoken confidence: explaining ideas, answering questions and joining discussion
- Exam technique mapped to your child's specification
Many families tell us their child understands English well but is reluctant to speak it. Our EAL and spoken-English confidence tutoring combines academic English with genuine live conversation, questioning and discussion with a UK-based tutor. See all online English tutoring stages.
International primary tutoring
For younger children we cover phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, writing, spelling and grammar, alongside maths, times tables and problem solving — and the confidence and communication that make the rest easier. We teach international-school pupils, British-curriculum families abroad, home-educated and travelling children, and children moving between countries and school systems. See online primary tutoring, including KS1 and KS2.
International maths tutoring
Maths is taught at every stage: primary number and times tables, KS3 maths, GCSE and IGCSE maths (core and extended), and British-curriculum maths support for pupils at international schools. See online maths tutoring.

Why British-curriculum families use us from overseas
Overseas families rarely want "a tutor". They want someone who already teaches the exact specification their child's school is following, who understands why a Cambridge IGCSE English paper is marked differently from a Pearson Edexcel one, and who is available at a sensible hour locally. That combination is hard to find in most international cities, and it is exactly what online tuition with UK teachers solves.
Three patterns come up again and again: pupils who arrive mid-course after a relocation and have gaps hidden by their current attainment; pupils in large teaching groups who never get detailed feedback on extended writing; and sixth formers keeping a UK university route open from abroad.
Your child's after-school lesson, our school day
Your child can have an after-school lesson in Dubai, Doha or Bangalore while their UK tutor is teaching during the UK daytime. That is the practical advantage of working with a UK company from overseas: depending on the time of year, late-afternoon and evening sessions across the Gulf and much of Asia fall inside roughly 9am to 3pm UK time, so you are choosing from teachers working normal hours rather than only those willing to teach late at night.
We book in your local time and keep the slot fixed week to week. For families more than about six hours ahead, an early-morning session before school is the other option that works well.
Curricula and exam routes we support
Most international families come to us for one of these routes, and we match the tutor to the specification the school actually teaches rather than to a generic subject label:
- UK National Curriculum at KS2 and KS3
- GCSE (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC)
- International GCSE / IGCSE, including Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and OxfordAQA International GCSE
- A-Level and Cambridge International A-Level
- Cambridge international programmes where a tutor has genuine experience of that specification
- Preparation for UK boarding-school entrance and for a return to UK schooling
We will not claim examination-board expertise we do not have. If a specification falls outside what our teachers genuinely know, we say so before you book.
Subjects international families ask for most
- English — language and literature, including academic written English for pupils in multilingual cohorts
- EAL and spoken English — academic English with real spoken confidence
- Primary — phonics, reading, writing and maths
- Maths — from KS2 through to A-Level
- Science — combined science and the separate sciences
- Psychology — GCSE and A-Level
- Humanities — History and Geography at GCSE, and at A-Level
Where we teach
Middle East
Only two to four hours ahead of the UK, so local evening slots land inside a UK teacher's working day.
- Tutoring in the UAE — UAE time is UTC+4
- Tutoring in Dubai — Dubai runs on UTC+4 all year, with no daylight saving, so your slot stays stable while the UK clocks change.
- Tutoring in Abu Dhabi — Abu Dhabi is UTC+4 year-round, so a fixed weekly slot never drifts when UK clocks change.
- Tutoring in Qatar — Qatar is UTC+3
- Tutoring in Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia is UTC+3, two to three hours ahead of the UK depending on the time of year.
- Tutoring in Bahrain — Bahrain runs on UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving, so your slot stays fixed while UK clocks change.
- Tutoring in Kuwait — Kuwait is UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving
- Tutoring in Oman — Oman is UTC+4 all year, so a local evening slot stays consistent while the UK moves in and out of British Summer Time.
Asia
Four and a half to eight hours ahead. Local evening slots — or early mornings before school — sit inside the UK working day, and both are well staffed.
- Tutoring in Hong Kong — Hong Kong is UTC+8
- Tutoring in Singapore — Singapore is UTC+8, seven to eight hours ahead of the UK.
- Tutoring in China — China Standard Time is UTC+8 nationwide, seven to eight hours ahead of the UK.
- Tutoring in Thailand — Thailand is UTC+7 all year
- Tutoring in India — India is UTC+5:30 all year
Europe
Within two hours of UK time — scheduling behaves almost exactly as it does for a UK family.
- Tutoring in Spain — Mainland Spain is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer
- Tutoring in Portugal — Mainland Portugal shares the UK's time zone all year, which makes scheduling as straightforward as tutoring a family in Bristol.
- Tutoring in France — France is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer
- Tutoring in Germany — Germany is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer, one hour ahead of the UK throughout the year.
- Tutoring in Switzerland — Switzerland is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer
- Tutoring in Cyprus — Cyprus is UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer
- Tutoring in Malta — Malta is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer, one hour ahead of the UK.
If your country is not listed, we almost certainly still teach there — the pages above exist where we have enough experience of the local school landscape to say something genuinely useful. Book a consultation and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
What makes LoftClass different for international families
Sessions are taught in LoftClass, which Learning Loft built for teaching rather than adapting from a business video-conferencing product. In practice that means a shared whiteboard your child can write on, past papers and mark schemes shared page by page rather than as a static screen grab, a managed waiting room, and session recordings — all in the browser, with nothing to install on a school-managed device.
Requesting international tutoring
Tell us the pupil's year group, subject, exam board and local time zone. We will match a suitable UK-qualified teacher and confirm an available slot before you book.
Tutoring for travelling and internationally mobile families
Because every lesson is online, the tutor stays the same when the family moves. Pupils can keep the same weekly teacher through a posting to the Gulf, a school move within Europe or a return to the UK, and lesson times are simply moved to the new local time zone. Sessions are booked slot by slot, so holidays, Ramadan timings and long summer breaks can be planned around rather than paid for.
For country-specific detail on schools, exam boards and lesson times, see our guides to tutoring in the UAE, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Spain.
Learning between lessons
Families can optionally add Learning Loft access for £9.99/month to support home practice between lessons through educational games, reading and our learning tools. It is entirely optional — tuition does not require a subscription — and simply complements live lessons.
Real international learners. Real progress.
Watch and read how personalised teaching helped one student move from hesitant answers to confident discussion in our online English tutoring in Gibraltar case study.
Five anonymised international online tutoring case studies set out exactly how these programmes run in practice — Gaokao English in China, three siblings taught through a school transition in Saudi Arabia, AQA GCSE resits from Spain, grade 4 towards grade 7 in Gibraltar, and a seven-subject grade 9 programme in Moscow.
Two of these now have their own pages: online tutoring for three siblings in Saudi Arabia and Gaokao English tutoring in China.

What we do not claim
We are not an admissions agency and do not guarantee school or university offers. We specialise primarily in British and international qualifications. We do not provide complete programmes for every national curriculum, but we can support specific subjects where our educators have appropriate experience, including Gaokao English. We hold no accreditations or partnerships beyond those stated on our about page. Everything on this site is meant to survive a sceptical reading by a parent who has been oversold to before.
