Who this is for
Qatar's British-curriculum schools cluster around Doha, Al Waab and the Education City corridor, serving a highly mobile expatriate community. Because families frequently arrive and leave mid-course, pupils often have gaps that sit several years below the topic they are currently being taught.
Why families in Qatar come to us
- Mid-course arrivals needing a diagnostic and a targeted catch-up plan rather than general revision
- Pupils who have changed curriculum and have foundational gaps hidden by current attainment
- Sixth formers preparing for UK university entry from Doha
- Families looking for structured holiday tuition during long summer breaks
Qualifications we support
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and Cambridge IGCSE are both widespread, with A-Levels at sixth form and a strong pipeline toward UK and regional universities. Some schools offer the IB Diploma; our specialism is the British route.
- Cambridge IGCSE
- Pearson Edexcel International GCSE
- A-Level
- KS3 catch-up

Arriving in Qatar part-way through a course
With families arriving in and leaving Doha throughout the year, children can find themselves starting a two-year IGCSE course in the second year, or returning to the UK mid-key stage. Your tutor starts by finding the real gaps, then plans lessons around what the new school is teaching now.
Primary, KS2 and secondary support for families in Qatar
Younger children who have moved from a non-British system often need the foundations of UK-style reading, writing and arithmetic first. Younger pupils can work on KS2 English and maths, including reading and writing and times tables and arithmetic. Older pupils can work towards GCSE, IGCSE or A-Level with a teacher who knows their board.
To get started, send a short request with your child's year group, school curriculum and preferred local times, or book a free 15-minute discovery call.

Time zones and scheduling
Qatar is UTC+3 — two hours ahead of the UK in winter and three during British Summer Time.
Doha families commonly book 17:00–21:00 local time, which is mid-afternoon to early evening for a UK-based tutor.
Sessions are booked as a fixed weekly slot wherever possible, so the appointment becomes part of the week rather than something renegotiated every Sunday. If a school trip or a family holiday gets in the way, the slot can be moved.
How the sessions work
- Tell us the school, board and year group. That is what determines the right tutor — not a general subject label.
- Free 15-minute discovery call. We check the match before you pay for anything.
- Live sessions in LoftClass. Our own virtual classroom, built for teaching rather than adapted from business video-conferencing: shared whiteboard, document sharing, recordings.
- A short written summary after each session so parents in a different time zone still know what was covered and what to practise.

Who teaches the sessions
Every tutor is a UK-qualified, DBS-checked teacher with classroom experience of the specification they teach. We do not recruit undergraduates, and we do not claim accreditations, awards or partnerships we do not hold. Learning Loft is a UK company; all tuition is delivered online from the UK.
