Who this is for
The UAE has one of the largest British-curriculum school populations outside the UK, concentrated in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Schools are inspected under KHDA and ADEK frameworks, and parents are used to reading published inspection ratings — which tends to make them precise about the outcomes they want from tutoring.
Why families in the UAE come to us
- Mid-year relocations that leave a child joining a British-curriculum school partway through a two-year course
- Sixth-form students working toward UK or US university applications alongside their A-Levels
- Families who want a UK-qualified teacher rather than an unregulated local tutoring centre
- Boarding-school entrance and 11+ style assessments for children returning to the UK
Qualifications we support
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and Cambridge IGCSE dominate Year 10–11, with Pearson and Cambridge International A-Levels at sixth form. A minority of schools run domestic AQA GCSE specifications. We match the tutor to the specification your child's school actually teaches, not to a generic 'GCSE' outline.

Moving to, from or within the UAE
Families often move between emirates, or between a UAE British school and a school in the UK, partway through a key stage. Online lessons mean your child keeps the same tutor through the move, and the tutor can check which topics the new school has already covered so nothing is skipped or repeated.
Primary, KS2 and secondary support for families in the UAE
Alongside IGCSE and A-Level, many UAE parents ask for help in the primary years, when children have joined a British-curriculum school from another system and need to catch up on UK-style reading, writing and number work. Younger pupils can work on KS2 English and maths, including reading and writing and times tables and arithmetic. Older pupils can work towards GCSE, IGCSE or A-Level with a teacher who knows their board.

Time zones and scheduling
UAE time is UTC+4 — three hours ahead of the UK in winter, four in British Summer Time.
Most UAE families book between 16:00 and 21:00 Gulf Standard Time, which maps comfortably onto a UK tutor's afternoon and early evening.
Sessions are booked as a fixed weekly slot wherever possible, so the appointment becomes part of the week rather than something renegotiated every Sunday. If a school trip or a family holiday gets in the way, the slot can be moved.
How the sessions work
- Tell us the school, board and year group. That is what determines the right tutor — not a general subject label.
- Free 15-minute discovery call. We check the match before you pay for anything.
- Live sessions in LoftClass. Our own virtual classroom, built for teaching rather than adapted from business video-conferencing: shared whiteboard, document sharing, recordings.
- A short written summary after each session so parents in a different time zone still know what was covered and what to practise.

Who teaches the sessions
Every tutor is a UK-qualified, DBS-checked teacher with classroom experience of the specification they teach. We do not recruit undergraduates, and we do not claim accreditations, awards or partnerships we do not hold. Learning Loft is a UK company; all tuition is delivered online from the UK.
