Who this is for
Switzerland hosts a dense concentration of international and boarding schools around Geneva, Lausanne, Zug, Zurich and Basel. Pupils are frequently academically strong and highly scheduled, which means tuition has to be genuinely additive rather than another hour of the same.
Why families in Switzerland come to us
- High-achieving pupils seeking grade 8–9 or A* refinement rather than remediation
- Multilingual pupils tightening written accuracy and register in English
- Boarding pupils supplementing school teaching with independent subject support
- UK and US university preparation alongside A-Levels
Qualifications we support
Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE, A-Levels and the IB Diploma all feature. Many pupils juggle three or four languages, and precision in written English is often the deciding factor in their British-curriculum grades.

Time zones and scheduling
Switzerland is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer — one hour ahead of the UK.
16:00–20:00 local time covers most families, including those travelling between campuses in Geneva, Zug and Zurich.
Sessions are booked as a fixed weekly slot wherever possible, so the appointment becomes part of the week rather than something renegotiated every Sunday. If a school trip or a family holiday gets in the way, the slot can be moved.
How the sessions work
- Tell us the school, board and year group. That is what determines the right tutor — not a general subject label.
- Free 15-minute discovery call. We check the match before you pay for anything.
- Live sessions in LoftClass. Our own virtual classroom, built for teaching rather than adapted from business video-conferencing: shared whiteboard, document sharing, recordings.
- A short written summary after each session so parents in a different time zone still know what was covered and what to practise.
Find a tutor in your time zone
Tell us your child's age, curriculum, country and local availability and we'll match you with the right UK-based teacher.
Who teaches the sessions
Every tutor is a UK-qualified, DBS-checked teacher with classroom experience of the specification they teach. We do not recruit undergraduates, and we do not claim accreditations, awards or partnerships we do not hold. Learning Loft is a UK company; all tuition is delivered online from the UK.
